Roman Villa - Medieval Ahrweiler - World Spa Bad Neuenahr

9.30am departure by bus accompanied by a versed tour guide. First we drive through the district Bad Neuenahr. You learn about the history of the therapeutic spa where by now for 150 years bathing culture is being cultivated. The Princess of Prussia inaugurated in the year 1858 the Augusta and Viktoria springs.

Then further on to the medieval part of the town to Ahrweiler. A professional tour guide will show the sights and some cultural gems. But this is not enough history, we travel further back, more or less exactly 2.000 years. We dip into the history of the Roman times. The Roman villa is the best preserved Roman estate north of the Alps. It has been exposed under the roof of the Roman Museum since 1980.

After so much culture and history the common lunch will taste even better. The Ahrweiler speciality "Döppekoche" will be served. Then the bus will take you back to the hotel around 2.30pm.

This programme can be amended individually: for example a visit to the local museum "Weißer Turm", changing special exhibitions in different municipal facilities, an organ concert at the venerable St. Laurentius church in Ahrweiler (built in the year 1269), by the way left-Rhenish the oldest gothic hall church, etc (please ask for dates).
