Lintorf, today a district of Ratingen, was until the communal area reform in 1975, seat of the district Angerland and the centre of the surrounding Angerland communities. Despite the rural character, which has been preserved the citizens enjoy an encompassing offer of service and shopping. Still today many visitors from the surrounding communities come to Lintorf do their shopping.

Lintorf offers commuters three nearby motorway connections to all directions: Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Essen, Krefeld or Wuppertal can be reached easily.

Recreation and tourist attractions are nearby: the local forests, surfing and swimming at the Angermund quarry pond, excursions to the Rhine in Kaiserswerth and Wittlaer and to the six-lake-district in Duisburg with its water sports options or to the green Mülheimer south and of course the other district of Rating, especially the nearby Anger Valley.
