Schlepzig
is situated north of the town Lübben, directly on the river Spree, first mentioned in 1004. The community Schlepzig is part of the Amt Unterspreewald. The village name stems from the Wendish 'Sloupisti' and means pile, as first settlements were constructed on piles.

A completely furnished residence, which was built in the year 1818, is open for sightseeing. The old farmstead was listed in 1960.

The farmer's house with separate rooms for the old-age parents have been furnished true to the original. The attic of the home houses a permanent exhibition about the development of agriculture, customs, traditions and culture as well as stories from the Spreewald.
