The Motto is "Jüterbog wird jute 1000" (Jueterborg will be a good 1000). The small town Jüterbog celebrated in 2007 its 1000-year anniversary.

The town's recorded history started already in the year 1007. From the Slavic "lutiboc" became in time "Jüterbog".

Only in a few of Brandenburg's cities does one find such a great number of historical buildings.

The city wall with its towers and gates, the town hall, the churches and the many old noble buildings in narrow alleys take the visitor into the time of the Middle Ages.

Conquered in 1157 by the archbishop of Magdeburg, the village received its town charter already in 1174. Jüterbog developed into a prosperous overseas trade location.

In the 19th century Jüterbog and its surrounding areas developed into a big garrison town, which was continuously extended until 1939.

Today Jüterbog presents itself as Fläming's cultural capitol and is with its manifold sights a tourist attraction.

One can for example marvel at the city gates (Damm-Gate, Neumarkt-Gate and Zinnaer Gate), the town hall and many redeveloped noble houses, the culture quarter Mönchenkloster and lots more.

In addition lots of concerts, markets, festivals and sports events take place.

Another tourist draw is the Fläming-Skate. Annually many visitors from different countries are attracted to this. A further highlight was built in 2004 - the Skate-Arena.

A warm welcome to Jüterbog ....
